NAV 1: Sebastian Errazuriz


 

The first pilot webisode for New American Visionaries features the Chilean industrial designer and artist Sebastian Errazuriz, a native of Santiago, Chile now based in New York.

At 28, Sebastian Errazuriz became the second living South American artist to have his work auctioned at Sotheby’s Important Twentieth Century Design. Errazuriz would be later selected as one of the top emerging international designers by I.D Magazine and awarded Chilean Designer of the Year in 2009, 2010 and 2011.

Sebastian’s groundbreaking work has been featured on the cover of multiple specialized art and design magazines and received critical acclaim by traditional media such as The New York Times, The Financial Times, CNN and The Wall Street Journal.

His functional sculptures have been included in shows and pop up exhibitions at the Copper Hewitt, National Museum of Design in New York, The Vitra Museum in Weil AM Rheim in Germany, the National Museum of Fine Arts in Santiago, Chile, The Museum of Art and Design in New York and the Museum of Contemporary Art in Helsinki.
